( paranoid / on edge ) : He's very on edge and can sometimes be jumpy / sees a lot of things as being a threat to his 'territory'. Although he is in a Zoo and has been there for a while already, he still believes an enemy tiger will appear to try and fight for his territory. He takes his job seriously ( job of protecting his territory / chokes ) and likes to wake up early for exercise and daily rounds of checking his territory to make sure no intruders sneaked in.

( independent ) He can be rather dense to the outside world, or things outside 'his' world since his main focus is always concentrated on his territory and the threat of others potentially taking it. Since he has lived a mostly solitary life, he isn't so used to companionship or making friends.

( softy ) : As much as he'll deny or say things...he'll probably end up doing it. Mostly with helping someone or going along with another's whims, he'll be reluctant to do it but eventually he will turn around.

He doesn't much care for the people or crowds who stop by his cage to look at him, rather he's more focused on searching for any enemy tigers that maybe hiding in them /cough

And if they ever decided to breed him and place a female in his cage he'll probably die from shock ahahah

Before he was brought to the Zoo, Howl lived on a wild life preservation located somewhere in India. His family consisted of only his mother ( he does not remember nor know if he had other siblings or relatives, or even what happened to his father ). Once Howl reached of age, he went out in search of his own territory to roam and protect. He lived in solitude in this simple life for a few years before he was suddenly taken away and shipped off to the Zoo.

From what he could piece together from the whispers and glimpse of the writing on his description, he was sent as a gesture of good faith between the reservation and the Zoo. Unable to experience anymore life in the wild, he closely guards the few lessons his mother passed down to him before he was taken. Those lessons mostly in regards to the simple goal in life and instinct to "guard your territory, defend your territory from any enemies". He follows those simple words strictly and has since built his life around it while he learns to live in this new unknown place.

Howl very much misses the wild, but he tries to make do with what he has now and calls his new 'cage' his 'territory' and will guard it with all that he has.
